The call of the mountains returns – Lupii Dacilor, Trofeul Muscelului 2025
This autumn, an authentic MTB experience awaits once again in Campulung Muscel, where riders take on the spectacular trails of the Iezer-Papusa massif. In 2025, the EPIC course becomes even more challenging, stretching to 60 km – a true test of endurance and skill. This edition also marks the hosting of Stage 6 of the National MTB XCM Cup, making the race a key highlight of the season.

 

Every climb and every descent comes with a reward: cool mountain forests, breathtaking views, and a true spirit of competition. It's time to answer the call.

Course Marking

The course will be finalized and prepared on the day of the event. In an effort to protect the forests and natural areas where the event takes place, the marking will be minimal. For this reason, we kindly ask you to review the course map before the race, pay close attention to the existing signs, and follow the instructions of the volunteers. Course marking details will be provided in the Participant Guide during the week of the event.

The Short Course is designed for children under 13 years old or riders who are participating in MTB races for the first time and are not yet fully prepared to complete the Standard Course. All participants will complete the course only once.

WE RECOMMEND THAT EACH CHILD BE ACCOMPANIED BY AT LEAST ONE PERSON. Both the companion and the child/children they accompany must be registered for the event (which requires creating a Riders Club account for each participant).

At registration, the following competitive MTB races are available:

KIDS RACES

- Level 4 | Male for age categories 5–7, 8–10, and 11–13 years
- Level 4 | Female for age categories 5–7, 8–10, and 11–13 years
- Registrations reserved for COMPANIONS, in the race: COMPANION FOR KIDS RACES | Short Course | 18+ years | Non-competitive

LIMITED SPOTS
The 2025 edition of the event will be limited to 1,000 participants to ensure a balanced race experience.

ON-SITE REGISTRATION
On-site registration for this event is NOT available.

NATIONAL MTB CUP
For the 2025 edition, the EPIC course will have a total length of 60 km. The EPIC course will also host Stage 6 of the National XCM MTB Cup. Registration for this stage is done automatically for all participants holding valid licenses for the current year, provided that the license number is correctly entered in the registration form.

The rankings for the National Cup will be as follows:

- Elite/U23 Men / Women
- Master 1 Men / Women
- Master 2 Men / Women
- Master 3 Men / Women
- Master 4 Men / Women

- Amateurs Men / Women, Open

E-MTB TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
The following technical specifications apply to E-MTB races:

  • The bike must be powered by two energy sources: human pedaling power and an electric motor that only assists while pedaling;

  • Only one battery is allowed for the entire race;

  • Assistance without pedaling (walk mode) is allowed up to a max speed of 6 km/h;

  • E-bikes that have been modified or tuned beyond the manufacturer's original specifications are NOT permitted. Any modification to the bike, software, motor, or battery may lead to disqualification from the race and future Riders Club events;

  • All E-MTB participants must undergo a technical check at the AmBike tent in the start area, at least 60 minutes before their race. Skipping this check will result in disqualification from the race rankings;

  • At the end of the race, the average speed of each E-MTB participant will be calculated. Participants with an average speed exceeding 27 km/h will be disqualified from the rankings.

RAFFLE
All race participants will be automatically entered into the event raffle. Winners will be selected randomly (via random.org). If you are among the winners, you must present your race number to claim your prize. Details about the prizes will be made available as we get closer to race day.
